Would recommend - yes

I bought this because I wanted a working USB C port on my ROG Maximus Gene VIII based system since the onboard USB-C was a hot mess right from the start. The cable that comes with this unit is only supported by the Z170 series motherboards due to the layout of the sata ports required (2x standard Sata and 1 x Sata Express). I would have been very disappointed had I purchased this for a different system. Having said that; it works fine and I'm happy to finally have working USB-C ports. The box does have a sticker on it stating that its only for the Z170 MB's and perhaps it would be an idea to make this clear in the details for this product.
